This series was all free hand painted with acrylic paints and water color on the background. I didn't trace anything or draw anything before. I got the leaves from outside and rolled paint on it and pressed it on the page.

Sacred Vessel
The sacred vessel I chose was the transformation from a callipiter to a butterfly and the process it has to go through. The callipiter starts out as a normal looking bug who doesnt look to important and special but goes through the process of going into a cocoon for a very long time to develop into a beautiful butterfly. Once it emerges from the cocoon into a butterfly, it has a very short life span and doesn't live any longer than a few days. I thought this was very interesting because a callipiter spends so much time becoming beautiful and transforming and ends up dying.
